Content Policy

Our content policy is simple. We will never knowingly reprint copyrighted information without giving proper credit or receiving permission to reprint from the original author. Due to the unique nature of recipes and cooking related materials, sometimes it is impossible to ascertain the origin of a recipe that may have clipped, printed, saved, written down, or otherwise transcribed, making publishing a recipe database free of copyrighted material incredibly difficult.

To this end, we attempt to refrain from encouraging copyright infringement by either generating all content ourselves, or the the cases of submitted content, simply rewriting everything that comes into our possession. We feel that this is the best way to publish a recipe or technique that may be time-honored, a famous recipe, or even one we've unearthed from the darkest corners of the internet, through our own medium without stepping on anyone's toes. That being said, we get many submissions from our users on which we cannot verify source, and we also publish other food-related information that we may have learned through hearsay, forgotten the source of, and so on.

We please ask those who submit recipes or other written materials to be on the honor system and make every effort not to submit copyrighted material. If you do notice that we have in error posted such material, please notify us and we will make every effort to either obtain permission or remove the material in question.

Images are used for illustration and education purposes only and are assumed to be public domain unless otherwise noted. We make a good faith effort to procure any necessary images from public domain or Creative Commons licensed sources. If it is brought to our attention that our site contains any copyrighted work that is not covered under Creative Commons license or is not part of the public domain, please notify us and we will remove the offending work immediately.
