Shiso (or perilla), a member of the mint family, is an aromatic herb commonly used in Asian cuisines which pairs nicely with fruit and has a wonderful, cooling flavor.

Ingredients:
3 cucumbers
15 shiso leaves
5 cups water
2 TB ginger, chopped
4 TB sugar
1 orange, sliced
1 lime, sliced
Directions:
Peel, juice, and strain cucumbers, enough to make 1.5 cups. Boil 3 cups of water, remove from heat, and steep shiso leaves in water for 10 minutes. Separately, boil 2 cups of water, remove from heat, and steep ginger in hot water for 10 minutes. Add sugar to ginger water and stir to dissolve.
Add cucumber juice to gallon pitcher. Strain shiso water and ginger syrup into pitcher. Add orange and lime slices and top off with water and ice.
