Haluski Kapusta
Translation: Fried Cabbage and Noodles

Ingredients:
1 head cabbage, cored and separated into leaves
4 TB butter
2 onions, thinly sliced
1 tsp granulated garlic
1 recipe handmade "drop" noodles, follows
1.5 tsp salt
1 tsp. black pepper
For the "drop" noodles:
2 eggs beaten
1 cup flour
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
water, to moisten
Directions:
To make the noodles:
Mix all dough ingredients together, moistening with water as necessary to make a smooth dough. Pull chunks off of the dough, stretch the chunks into rough noodles, and drop into boiling water. Cook until noodles puff up and float, then remove from water and drain.
Boil cabbage leaves in salted water until crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and slice thinly. Heat butter in a pan over medium heat and add onions, sauteeing about 10 minutes. Add cabbage, garlic, salt, and pepper and continue to saute until cabbage begins to caramelize, about 10 minutes. Add noodles, stir to combine, and cook about 5 more minutes.
