Taco Seasoning
Cuisine: Mexican
Recipe Type: Spice
Vegetarian / Vegan: Vegan
We always use granulated garlic and onion in our recipes instead of powders - they're much more flavorful. The "taco seasoning" mix that most people are used to usually contains a bit of cornstarch as a thickener, we've left that optional.
Ingredients:
1 TB chili powder
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. granulated garlic
1 tsp. granulated onion
1 tsp. Mexican oregano
1 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. cornstarch (optional)
Directions:
Mix all ingredients and grind together in a coffee mill or spice grinder. Seal in a glass jar. Use 1-1.5 tsp. per cup of prepared ground beef substitute or soy protein crumbles for taco "meat".
