Used as a seasoning in Arabic cuisine for hundreds of years, it is widely believed in Lebanon and Palestine that eating za'atar for breakfast will make children smarter. It is served mainly with pita and olive oil, but is also used as a seasoning for grilling and vegetables.


Ingredients:

1.5 TB thyme, ground
1/2 TB marjoram, ground
2 TB sesame seeds, toasted
2 tsp. sumac, ground
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a mixing bowl and stir to combine.
